A budget of Bt150 billion has been set aside for this endeavour.
The money will be distributed over three months at Bt5,000 per month, similar to the Finance Ministry’s earlier cash handout of Bt5,000 for self-employed and freelance workers who are affected by the Covid-19 crisis. The earlier campaign was known as “Rao Mai Thing Kan” or “we don’t leave anyone behind”.
“The Cabinet also agreed to expand the beneficiaries under the ‘Rao Mai Thing Gun’ by another 2 million people from the original limit of 14 million,” Narumon said. “This will increase the total budget for the said campaign from Bt210 billion to Bt240 billion.”
