Kritsada no longer deputy finance minister, confirms Srettha

FRIDAY, MAY 10, 2024

Kritsada Jinavijarana’s resignation from the post of deputy finance minister is already in effect, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin told reporters.

“It’s in effect,” Srettha told reporters at Government House just before heading upcountry on Friday. He is scheduled to visit Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi until Sunday, before holding a mobile Cabinet meeting in Phetchaburi on Tuesday.

Kritsada tendered his resignation on Wednesday, reportedly out of dissatisfaction that his responsibilities had been greatly reduced following the Cabinet reshuffle on April 28.

Upon hearing about the resignation, Srettha said he called Kritsada and asked him to think about it for a night as he had not yet approved his resignation.

Srettha said Kritsada’s seat belongs to the United Thai Nation Party’s quota, so he will discuss his replacement with the party at the next Cabinet meeting.
