Scania engine is ready for B20, supporting government policies and Thai logistics businesses while providing for the environmentally friendly fuels.

Sathit Riyatanon, aftersales director at Scania Siam, said that, with the growth of the logistics business, alternative-energy systems were being further developed.

And, due to the government policy supporting the use of B20 biodiesel, many transport entrepreneurs are interested in switching to it.

However, B20 normally has a slightly higher consumption rate than diesel.

Scania has thus developed software that makes the fuel injection system in trucks and buses work more efficiently and be eco-friendlier.

There will be a little cost to adjust some parts, including new software systems, and the vehicles must have been manufactured by Scania since 2008. Customers can visit the service centre for a consultation.

Scania’s aim is to drive the shift towards a sustainable, safer and more efficient transport system.

Its approach rests on three pillars: energy efficiency, alternative fuels and electrification, and smart and safe transport.

Scania has developed products and services that can significantly reduce the amount of CO2 released from combustion.
