MG makes Thailand its SE Asia production hub

SAIC Motor-CP Co and MG Sales (Thailand) Co recently held a ceremony to mark the beginning of production at its new plant in Chon Buri province.

 MG says this plant will be the Southeast Asia hub for its car production for local distribution and global exports.
 The new MG plant, built on 437.5 rai (70 hectares) in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 2, has replaced the old factory that began production in 2014 and which was also in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate.

USG Boral sweeps |three awards
Building-materials supplier USG Boral (known as Siam Gypsum in Thailand) won three industry awards at the 16th annual “Global Gypsum Conference and Exhibition”, held in Bangkok from October 25-26. 
They are Global Gypsum Company of the Year, Global Gypsum Plant of the Year and Global Gypsum Product of the Year.

Egat hires ERM-Siam |for CoP report
The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand has hired ERM-Siam, a consulting firm, to conduct the Community of Practice (CoP) report for its Mae Hong Son Smart Energy Development Project.
The project involves the installation of a solar power plant with generating capacity of 3 megawatts and an energy storage system with capacity of 4MW. 
Upon the completion of the CoP study in February 2017, the power utility will submit a report to the Energy Regulatory Commission before proceeding with its power purchase contract application.
