TRADE WITH CHINA VALUE RISES 13% TO $39.39 BILLION IN FIRST HALF

Trade between Thai and China under the Asean-China Free Trade Agreement recorded US$39.39 billion in the first half of this year or up 13 per cent from the same period of last year, director-general Auramon Supthaweethum of the Trade Negotiations Department of the Commerce Ministry said yesterday.

Up to US$14.93 billion of the total trade value of US$39.39 billion in the first half of this year wereThai exports to China, with the balance of US$24.46 billion being Thai imports from China, she said.
She added that since China and USA are currenlty embroiled in a trade, Thai exporters will continue to expand their exports to the China market. However, exporters have to be aware of the trade war impact with China exporters continuing to expand their exports the Asean markets.
