Students from the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU)has demanded the release of two student protest leaders - Po Po and Win Kyaut Hmuu.

They demonstrated at the Kamayut Township court when the two were brought for trial on Thursday. Both were arrested for their involvement in the student demonstration at Hledan junction in Yangon on March 10. They were charged under Section 505(B) and other four sections of the penal code.
The ABFSU students called for the immediate release as well as changes to the National Education Law.
“We are protesting here to demand the release of all detained students as soon as possible. Two students are in the hospital to receive treatment for injuries they sustained when they were beaten by the police. We want them to receive good treatment. This is the government’s responsibility,” said ABFSU member Hmone Gyi.
