Hotel in Fujian collapses, trapping dozens under rubble

A hotel collapsed at around 7:30 pm on Saturday in Licheng district of Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province, and about 70 people were trapped. By

9:55 pm, 34 had been rescued, according to Quanzhou municipal government. 

Local government has launched an all-out search and rescue.

A witness surnamed Wu, who lives near the hotel, said he heard a loud bang while he was having supper and thought it was an explosion.

He ran to the balcony and saw the building collapse and some people were rescued from the rubble, according to mnw.cn.

Wu said the building was about five stories high.
