Guesthouse warned after hosting Suu Kyi

LOIKAW - The owner of the Loikaw guesthouse where Aung San Suu Kyi stayed on September 11 has been warned for not informing the authorities about the esteemed guest.

The Nan Htike San guesthouse in Law Dhama ward hosted the National League for Democracy leader during her campaign tour of Kayah State.
Suu Kyi campaigned in Demoso, Hpruso, Bawlakhe, Hpasawng, Loikaw and Shadaw townships.
On September 13, Kyaw Myint, ward administrator, warned the owner about his failure to submit the overnight list.
Township administrator Aung Swe said: “In Loikaw, guesthouse owners are not in the habit of submitting the lists to the authorities, even for foreigners.”
Min Inn, owner of the Nan Htike San, said: “I submitted overnight guest lists to the authorities on the previous days. On September 11, I forgot because I was very busy. The ward administrator urged me not to forget it again.”
