Toyota’s Vios and Yaris gain five-star safety ratings
The new Toyota Vios and Toyota Yaris have received five-star safety ratings from the New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (Asean NCAP), Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP) announced.
The Vios and Yaris are the first Toyota models to receive these safety ratings under the new Asean NCAP Assessment 2017-2020 Protocol.
This consists of Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP) and Safety Assist categories and is evaluated by a frontal offset impact test, side impact test, child restraint system (CRS) installation test and an evaluation of the vehicle’s safety features.
The new and enhanced safety features in the new Vios and Yaris come as standard fitment across all its variants. They include seven airbags (front, sides, curtain and driver’s knee), hill-start Assist Control and seatbelt reminder (for front passenger).
