Investment roadshow to highlight ‘new-look Thailand’
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will host its annual roadshow in Bangkok from August 28-30.
“Thailand Focus 2019: Embracing Opportunities – The Next Chapter” will be the first chance for the new government to directly meet with prospective overseas investors.
SET president Pakorn Peetathawatchai said the conference would highlight the attractiveness of Thailand and its capital market in a changed context under a new civilian government.
More than 300 fund managers from the United States, Europe, Singapore, China, South Korea, Taiwan and India are expected to look for insights into national strategies and investment opportunities while also meeting directly with representatives of more than 100 listed companies.
The participating companies listed on the SET and the Market for Alternative Investment have a combined market capitalisation of Bt12.35 trillion, representing 72 per cent of the Thai bourse’s total market capitalisation, Pakorn said.
Top executives from the business sector will present information about potential of Thai firms that are expanding into all regions of Thailand, particularly the trading and tourism sectors, and about the Eastern Economic Corridor, part of the Thailand 4.0 strategy.
