MDES and HUAWEI present AI-Assisted Service to Ramathibodi Hospital to fight COVID-19
MDES joins hands with HUAWEI to present AI-Assisted Service to Ramathibodi Hospital, which can provide COVID-19 Diagnosis Results in 25 Seconds
[March 31, Bangkok] – Mr. Buddhipongse Punnakanta, Digital Economy and Society Minister and Mr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, Director of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), together with Mr. Abel Deng, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., presented an AI solution from HUAWEI CLOUD that has helped leading hospitals in China won the COVID-19 crisis to Ramathibodi Hospital. The AI solution aims to help medical staffs with medical image analysis and can give quick output of CT quantification results of COVID-19 suspected cases, reducing the time in image analyzing to as quick as 25 seconds per case.
The AI solution from HUAWEI CLOUD can automatically, quickly, and correctly output CT quantification results, saving time for treatment and reducing risk of infection for medical staffs. In addition, more than 20 hospitals in China has adopted this technology to handle COVID-19 and after continued training and optimization, the solution has become more efficient with classification of accuracy rate at 96% and with DICE score higher than 85. With the AI solution, Thai medical staffs can disperse its personnel to take care of each case thoroughly, helping Thailand to cope with COVID-19 situation more effectively.
Recently, Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., provided Huawei Telemedicine Video Conference Solution to Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, as a part of its plan to help cope with COVID-19 situation. The solution is real-time and full-functional teleconference system that can facilitate Thai medical staffs to work smoother, doctors can monitor and diagnose patients from everywhere through their own smart devices, and the more important thing is that it reduces risk of infection for Thai medical team as well.
