Upper Thailand gets cooler, with thundershowers, wind gusts
Some areas of upper Thailand will experience thundershowers with gusty winds along with a temperature decrease of 1-3 degrees Celsius as a southeasterly wind brings moisture from the South China Sea to the lower North, the Central region and the East, while a moderate high-pressure system from China extends to the Northeast, the Meteorological Department said on Thursday.
Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
North: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area as well as gusty wind; temperature lows of 16-22 degrees and highs of 32-36 degrees Celsius. Temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 5-15 degrees Celsius.
Northeast: Cool-to-cold weather with gusty wind; temperature lows of 15-20 degrees and highs of 29-33 degrees Celsius. Temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 8-15 degrees Celsius.
Central: Thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area and gusty wind; temperature lows of 20-23 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
East: Thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area and gusty wind; temperature lows of 21-24 degrees, highs of 31-35 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1 metre offshore.
South (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 21-25 degrees, highs of 30-33 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Partly cloudy with isolated light rain; temperature lows of 22-24 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1 metre offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area and gusty wind; temperature lows of 22-24 degrees, highs of 32-33 degrees Celsius.
