Laos agrees to hunt for Thai fugitives
Laos has agreed to cooperate with Thailand to hunt down Thai nationals opposed to the junta-led government who fled to Laos years ago, National Security Council (NSC) secretary-general Thawip Netniyom said on Thursday.
Thawip was speaking after a meeting with high-ranking officers from Laos’s Police Special Branch Division.
The NSC has sent initial information regarding six dissidents, most of whom are members of the Thai red-shirt opposition group, including Wutthipong Kotchathamkhun, also known as Ko Tee, who faces arrest warrants in 21 cases including lese-majesty charges, Thawip said.
