208 guns seized in illegal firearm crackdown in East

The Provincial Police Bureau 2 has seized 208 guns and 1,364 rounds of ammunition in a 10-day crackdown on people possessing illegal firearms in eight eastern provinces, the bureau chief said on Friday.

Pol Lt-General Jitti Rodbangyang, commissioner of Provincial Police Bureau 2, said the crackdown aimed to prevent illegal firearms being used to harm people.

He said police also seized a ping pong bomb during the operation.

Meanwhile, police raided 118 illegal gambling venues and arrested 286 suspects during the same period.

Officers also seized 97,108 methamphetamine pills, 335.83 grams of crystal meth, one kilogram of marijuana and 16kgs of krathom during the same operation.
