Traffic police have advised motorists to avoid Ramkhamhaeng Road and some other roads on Saturday morning as a ceremonial Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) run is being held to announce the upcoming regional sports competition in Malaysia.

The “Rising Together-Baton Run” started at the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium at 6am.

The 23.5-km run will continue past The Mall Ramkhamhaeng, the MCOT intersection, Victory Monument, the Chalermpao intersection, CentralWorld, the Mitr Samphan intersection, Phetchawet Hospital and Foodland and return to the stadium.

The ceremony is scheduled to be over at 11am.

Malaysia will host the 29th SEA Games from August 19 to 31. Athletes will take part in 38 sports disciplines in the regional version of the Olympics.
