Motorists advised to avoid Sukhumvit Road on Saturday due to Songkran parade

Motorists are being advised to avoid a five-kilometre section of Sukhumvit Road from Soi Sukhumvit 24 to Siam Square on Saturday when the “Amazing Songkran 2017” procession is taking place.

One lane of the road from Bangkok Planetarium to Soi Sukhumvit 24 will be closed from 5pm to 6.30pm for the procession, the Tourism Authority of Thailand announced.

A lane from Soi Sukhumvit 24 to Soi 22 will also be closed from 6pm to 8.30pm for the ceremony and shows.

The parade will move from Soi Sukhumvit 22 to the Asoke Intersection, Ploenchit Intersection, Ratchaprasong Intersection, Siam Square and Pathumwan Intersection from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
