59-year-old woman killed along with cow inside rubber plantation by speeding truck
A woman tending her cow at her road-side rubber plantation in Phatthalung was killed on Wednesday morning by a speeding truck after the driver apparently dozed off.
Her cow was also killed in the accident on Samakkhitham-Khao Chaison Road in Phatthalung’s Khao Chaison district at 9.30am.
Police said the victim was identified as Jongjit Nillome, 59.
The pickup was driven by Mongkol Wutthisai, 44, who was delivering pine apples to customers in the district.
Police believe Mongkol dozed off, causing his pickup to run off the road into the rubber plantation, crashing into the woman and her cow.
He was arrested and charged with reckless drunk driving that resulted in a death.
