Romney leading in Ohio, wins Vermont

Washington - Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney had a slight edge in exit polls in the key state of Ohio as polls closed late Tuesday in the mid-western state during Super Tuesday voting.

The exit polls put the front runner for the Republican presidential nomination at 40 per cent, with former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, currently Romney's top competitor, at 36 per cent.
Meanwhile, Romney was heading to victory in the north-eastern state of Vermont, broadcasters projected.//DPA
