Vientiane - Laos anticipates 8-per-cent economic growth for the fiscal year that ends on September 30, and 8.3 per cent in 2012-13, state media said Tuesday.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment said the agriculture sector would see 3.3-per-cent growth, accounting for 25.9 per cent of gross domestic product for the 2012-13 fiscal year, the Vientiane Times reported.
Industry was to grow around 15 per cent in the same period.
Last year's devastating floods, that damaged thousands of hectares of rice fields in central and southern provinces, forced thegovernment to revise its 2011-12 GDP forecast down to 8 per cent from the original target of 8.3 per cent.//DPA
