Ousted education minister Chaturon Chaisang will be tried in the Court Martial after he was arrested by troops for allegedly violating the coup order.
He was arrested by soldiers in front of a crowd of foreign journalists after giving a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand (FCCT).
Chaturon, who did not report to the NPCO when summoned last Thursday, came out of hiding to appear before the international media at 2pm.
Army deputy spokesman Winthai Sivari said Chaturon must be tried in the Court Martial as he failed to comply with the order on time. “Holding press conference to foreign media is deemed improper and against NPCO policy,” Winthai said.
