Prayuth hints govt to go ahead with coal-fired power plants

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha his given a strong hint that his government would go ahead with coal-fired power plant construction.

Speaking during his weekly TV programme aired Friday night, he said he realised that the people are opposed to coal-fired power plants but he believes new technology can make coal clean energy.

Prayut said the use of coal would help the country save a lot on the imports of natural gas and crude oil.
