The Suankularb Wittayalai School teacher, who allegedly molested schoolboys and shared the images and video clips of such actions to others via Twitter, has been brought into police custody according an arrest warrant issued on Friday, police told a press

Central Investigation Bureau chief Pol Maj General Thitirat Nongharnphithak said that the 33-year-old teacher Sarot Meepai was arrested on Friday evening at the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1 Bangkok where he had been transfer pending a fact-finding disciplinary probe. His three cell phones were also confiscated for probing. The arrest warrant was issued for Sarot’s alleged violations of the Computer Act’s article 14 (4) for uploading pornographic information onto computer system and article 14 (5) for publishing pornographic information.

Pol Maj Gen Supaset Chokchai, chief of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), said police would take sometimes to check the phone contents. He said police would bring Sarot to apply for the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court-approved detention order and would object his bail release as to prevent him from tampering with evidences as police still had to further determine if the people in pornographic images and clips were actually minors.

Sarot told the press that some information on Thai social media about his case was untrue. He insisted that he had never molested his Suankularb students and that there were no indication in the images that the people were minors. He said he had consent sex with people who shared the same desire and were all over 20 years old. He urged the public not to use his case to tarnish the school’s reputation as this was his personal matter. He claimed the information uploaded to Twitter was because he let people use his phone and exchange with them Twitter username and passwords. He said student and school sport uniforms were merely used to attract likes. He said he had done this for nearly a year and apologized for the inappropriate behavior.
