Prayut thanks Malaysia for hosting peace talk

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha told visiting Malaysia’s Supreme Commander Gen Haji Mohd Zin that he appreciated Malaysia hosting a peace dialogue between the Thai government and Muslim insurgents, a government spokesman said Friday.

The supreme commander of Malaysia paid a courtesy call to Prayut at the Government House at 1:30 pm. Haji Zin was visiting Thailand as a guest of the Thai Supreme Command.

Deputy Government Spokesman Weerachon Sukondhapatipak congratulated Haji Zin for having appointed the secretary general of the Malaysian National Security Council.

Weerachon quoted Prayut as saying that the armed forces of the two countries would continue close cooperation under Haji Zin.

Prayut also thanked Malaysia for hosting peace dialogue between the Thai government and a group of Muslim insurgents.
