Chuan says airlines increase fares from flooded provinces

Former Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai on Saturday complained and made a plea to the transport minister for help examine high price air ticket flying to and from southern provinces during severe flooding.

During his interview via Facebook Live with The Nation’s Suthichai Yoon, Chuan said he had phoned Transport Minister Arkom Termpitayapaisit asking him to have sympathy to passengers who wanted to travel out of their provinces.
The train service to and from south could not go further than Chumphon Rail station so people needed to travel by plane.
“Airlines increase the price and it is very expensive,” he said.
