Prawit: Authorities obliged to search Dhammakaya Temple
Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said the authorities are obliged to carry out a search of the Dhammakaya Temple for elusive Phra Dhammachayo but the authorities will avoid clashes.
He said the authorities must be able to enter any area in Thailand that the court has approved search warrants for.
He said the authorities will try to talk to the monk’s followers first and will not use force to break into the compound.
“But the law must be the law or else we can’t do anything,” Prawit added.
