The Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte will make an official visit to Thailand in the second half of next month, an official said Monday.

The exact date of the visit was not fixed but it is expected that President Duterte would be able to be in Thailand on March 20.

Duterte who took office since June last year was in Thailand once in November to pay homage to the late His Majesty King Bhumibol.

The official visit next month would enable him to tighten bilateral relations with Thailand on various matters including political, security and economic affairs.
