High-efficiency LED streetlight system honoured by Cambodian govt
NTT Communications Corporation, the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT Group, has announced that a high-efficiency system of LED streetlights constructed by MinebeaMitsumi and supported by global network and cloud services from NTT Com received a special award from the Cambodian environment minister last month.
The award recognises the project’s contributions to Cambodia in terms of environmental protection by reduced energy consumption.
MinebeaMitsumi’s LED streetlight system is wirelessly connected for smart functions, such as parking sensors and electricity meters, which are supported by NTT Com’s global network and cloud services.
The extra-efficient system cuts greenhouse-gas emissions by 70 per cent compared with conventional high intensity discharge (HID) lighting thanks to the reduced power consumption of light-emitting diodes and smart functions such as the wirelessly controlled shut-off and dimming of streetlights.
