Smog from Myanmar worsening haze problem in North

Wildfire and cross-border smog from Myanmar has intensified the haze problem in many northern provinces Thailand.

A working group to tackle the wildfire and haze problem forecast that the haze problem in the Northern region would worsen in the next three days, especially in Mae Hong Son, as they still cannot control illegal burning and wildfire. Brisk winds are also blowing smog from Myanmar to Thailand.
Mae Hong Son Natural Resources and Environment Office director Somsak Sappakosolkul said that due to the dense hotspots in Myanmar and the direction of wind, the province would suffer from severe haze problems in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Somsak disclosed that two regiments of firemen from Chantaburi, Lopburi and Prachinburi would reinforce the wildfire fighting operation in the province.
