Police officer killed by unknown gunmen in Yala
A policeman was shot dead in an ambush by unknown gunmen in Yala's Muang district early Thursday morning.
The body of Pol Lance Corporal Opas Saetang of the Muang Yala police station was found near his motorcycle on the Reuncham Bridge at around 1am.
Police are investigating the attack, which they initially suspected to stem from the deep South's ongoing unrest but they did not rule out other suspects.
