The cyberworld on Saturday officially welcomed 50 more special cyber trotters – older people who graduated from the class to develop web surfing and communication skills for the elderly in preparation for Thailand 4.0.

The graduation ceremony was held at Tambon Pruyai Municipality in Nakhon Rartchasima’s Mueang district.

So far, the municipality has organised three classes of web surfing and Internet communications for people aged 60 and over.

Local mayor Surasak Prasonghing said his municipality takes care of 9,701 residents, 1,448 of them are elderly. As a result, the municipality has been holding classes to teach them how to communicate online so that they will be prepared for Thailand 4.0.

With ability to communicate online, the elderly would not feel isolated from society, the mayor added.
