Muslim chief engineer shot dead in Pattani

A Muslim man, who was the chief engineer of a tambon administrative organisation in the restive southern province of Pattani, was gunned down on Friday night.

Police said Abduloh Padohlee, 36, was shot at 9.30pm by two gunmen at the roadside weekly market on the Kamiyoh village road in tambon Kamiyoh, Muang district, while he was shopping for food.

He was the chief engineer of Tambon Ratapanyung Administrative Organisation in Yaring district.

He was shot twice and died at the Pattani Hospital.

Police have yet to determine if the killing was related to the ongoing insurgency or it was motivated by personal conflicts.
