Thai businessman arrested for allegedly trafficking Laotian, Myanmar girls
Immigration police on Saturday arrested a Thai businessman on a charge of trafficking underage Laotian and Myanmar girls into prostitution.
Wanchart Piamprasart, 55, was arrested at the Phothong Resort Hotel in Tambon Takian of Chachoengsao’s Mueang district at 5.30am.
He was wanted on an arrest warrant approved by the Chachoengsao Court and dated June 30, 2011.
Immigration Bureau Pol Lt-General Natthathorn Praosunthorn said Wanchart was accused of trafficking girls under the age of 18 from Laos and Myanmar in Chachoengsao in 2011.
