Boy, 3, ‘abandoned by mother’ in temple

The abbot of Wat Phukhao Din was alerted when the toddler started crying at 9pm. He found the abandoned boy in the dark on the temple ground.
The abbot, Phra Kru Jittapirom, took the boy to his living quarter and informed the police.
A bag of clothes and a handwritten letter were found with the boy. The letter, apparently written by the mother, complained about the irresponsibility of the boy’s father. It also contained the father’s mobile phone number.
Police will summon both mother and father for questioning.
