Assistant kamnan shot dead in Pattani
An assistant kamnan in Pattani was shot dead Monday morning just past midnight, police said.
Police said Ahama Samoh, 46, an assistant chief of Tambon Khuan in Panare district, was killed while riding his motorcycle home at about 10 minutes past midnight.
They said the attack could have been motivated by personal conflict, but also might have been the work of ethnic Malay insurgents, since Ahama was a defence volunteer in his village.
