Two arrested while allegedly smuggling drugs in Bueng Kan

Police arrested two men who refused to stop at a road checkpoint in Bueng Kan early Wednesday and seized 15,359 methamphetamine pills and 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

The two suspects were identified as Sornchai Chiengkwang, 24, and an unnamed 18-year-old teenager.

Acting on a tip-off, police set up a checkpoint on Ban Dong Bung-Bueng Kong Long Road in Bueng Kan’s Bueng Kong Long district and spotted the two riding a motorcycle at 4.20am.

After they refused to stop, police chased them before they were arrested after fleeing for five kilometres.

The two said they had been paid Bt10,000 to take the drugs from a Lao man at a border in Bueng Long Long to deliver to a man in Seka district in Bueng Kan.
