1,000kg of marijuana found abandoned along Mekong River

Border patrol police seized 1,000 kilograms of marijuana found abandoned on the banks of the Mekong River in Nakhon Phanom’s Tha Uthane early Monday.

Ban Na Nong Bok villagers spotted suspicious-looking sacks on the river bank and alerted police.

Police found 1,000 bars of marijuana, each weighing 1kg, in 25 sacks. The bars were sealed in plastic wrap.
