Clash of Clans celebrates with Thai edition

Finnish mobile game developer Supercell has joined hands with Tencent (Thailand) to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the popular Clash of Clans game and announce that it is now available in Thai language for the first time.

The celebrations will include fantasy performances by Aum-Pachrapa Chaichua, a leading Thai actress and a real-life Clash of Clans fan.
The performances will feature Chief OKS The Great performing a special battle round with another famous Thai clasher, ZatanZ ZadistiX. These will integrate with online marketing via social media activities on Facebook and YouTube.
Jihong Lee, Supercell chief of global expansion, Southeast Asia, said: “Clash of Clans was released for iOS platform on August 2, 2012, and later for Android on October 7, 2013.
“Clash of Clans has been operating for five years globally and in over 20 local languages.”
However, he said the Thai language presented some challenges because of its unique alphabet.
“Our team at Supercell is compact and has great passion for perfection, therefore this localisation process took some time,” Lee said.
“Five years later, we have reached the point where we want to offer a great experience to all of you.”
Krittee Manoleehagul, managing director of Tencent (Thailand), said the online games industry in Southeast Asia and Thailand in particular were among the fastest growing markets in the world.
