Car kills exercising cyclist, driver flees then reports to police

A 66-year-old cyclist getting his morning exercise was killed after being hit by a speeding car on a road in Nakhon Ratchasima on Friday.

Police said the accident happened at 8.15am on the Talad Kae-Pimai road in Tambon Krabuang Yai of Phimai district.
The man was identified as Tee Kruaysawat, owner of a clothes shop in downtown Phimai.
His bicycle was hit by a Honda car whose driver was later identified as Noppol Phatnthabut, 29.
Tee died after being rushed to Phimai Hospital.
Initially, Noppol left his car at the scene and fled but turned himself to police in the afternoon. He said he was driving to work and did not see the bicyclist in front of him. He was charged with reckless driving causing death.
