Nan governor Paisal Wimonrat assigned provincial disaster prevention chief Narong Inso to visit Ban Nam Or village in Chiang Klang district on Sunday morning to inspect damage caused by a flash flood on Saturday.

A search for a 69-year-old resident of Moo3, Boonpeng Sutthakan, who was swept away by strong currents while fishing, was conducted under Narong’s direction, but it had not yielded any result by mid-afternoon on Sunday.

Narong was accompanied by Colonel Asamapong Nilpan from the Pha Muang para-military ranger task force and other officials. They delivered drinking water to the Ban Nam Or residents and helped clean two houses that were buried in mud.
