Home wiring work now requires a ministry licence
Anyone whose work involves installing household power cables and electrical systems are now required to obtain a licence from the Labour Ministry.
Minister Gen Sirichai Disthakul on Thursday announced the new amendment to the Skilled Labour Promotion Act.
It requires all electrical technicians to be regulated and certified by the ministry.
Sirichai said that, as of Wednesday, 70,829 technicians had passed a test and been licensed to work as household electricians.
