Patrol and Special Operation Division chief Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal led raids against two pubs in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district early on Saturday after they were found to remain open after the 2am closing time.

Pubs Lap-Republic and Na Bang Khen are located close together on Soi Talad Amornphan off Ngamwongwan Rd in Lad Yao sub-district.

Surachet said the raids were conducted with combined forces from his division and the Tourist Police Division at the request of the Phaholyothin police station.

At the Lap-Republic police found 45 drinkers under 20 years old. Pub manager Chanatip Chusringam, 24, was charged with allowing people under 20 to enter his entertainment venue, failing to observe the closing hour and operating an entertainment venue without a licence.

Sunee Uthaporn, 29, manager of the second pub, was charged with failing to observe the closing hour of pubs.
