Chon Buri police arrested a man at a road checkpoint while he was allegedly delivering drugs to a buyer on Wednesday morning.

Thiwa Pimphathong, 33, was arrested at 6am on Sukhumvit road at the intersection near public prosecutor’s office in Tambon Na Jomthien in Chon Buri’s Sattahib district.

He was arrested after he abandoned his motorcycle and tried to flee on foot.

Police said the man appeared nervous when he drove his motorcycle past the checkpoint, so he was asked to stop. Instead, he tried to escape.

Police said they found 199 methamphetamine pills on him.

They said Thiwa admitted that he bought the drug from someone in Chon Buri’s Siracha district for reselling, and he was on his way to a buyer when arrested.
