The three-kilogram baby was wrapped in a yellow towel and sweater and crying in pain after being bitten by ants on a bench in a riverside pavilion, causing local residents to investigate and find her at around 3am, said temple abbot Phra Khru Sunthorn Rojanakhun.&nbsp; 
Residents then took the baby to alert monks to call police. The girl was placed in the care of Buddhachinnaraj Hospital while police tried to locate her parents or relatives.

The girl was given the nickname &ldquo;Nong Krathin&rdquo;, as her discovery coincided with a Krathin merit-making event to be held the next day.

A one-day-old baby girl was found abandoned in front of Wat Phothiyan in Phitsanulok’s Muang district early Sunday morning.
