Tourists trapped by impassable road
Thais and Chinese tourists were stuck at a coffee shop on the road to Wat Phrathat Doi Kham in Chiang Mai's Muang district as the road was made impassable by flash flood that hit Bang Mae Hia Nai on Tuesday afternoon.
The Doi Kham-Ban Pong road was submerged by knee-deep water at 1pm, the Mae Hia disaster prevention and mitigation unit said. The authorities also urged residents living along the Mae Hia creek to put belongings on higher grounds to protect them from the flood.
