Alleged sticky fingers land Lao ‘Mafia of Siam’ in trouble again

A Lao man who was once dubbed “Mafia of Siam” after an assault that led to a jail term, was arrested a second time in Bangkok late Sunday night – this time for alleged shoplifting.

Veeraphan Inthavonge, 40, made headlines in mid-2015 when he attacked a Thai woman in the Hua Lamphong subway station. He was jailed 14 months and then deported.
But he was back in Bangkok again this month, allegedly caught on CCTV camera stealing a shirt worth Bt13,500 from the store Boy London in Siam Square 1 on October 18.
Pol Lt Col Arthit Simcharoen of Pathumwan station said Veeraphan was spotted on Sunday walking on Soi Prachasongkroh 3 in Din Daeng and arrested.
