A woman was arrested at a market in Kalasin on Wednesday morning for using fake Bt1,000 notes.

Police arrested Kesinee Nualbuttri, 37, at 8.30am while she was shopping for food at a fresh market in Kalasin’s Kham Muag district.

Food vendor Kolkrai Praison alerted police after the woman used a fake Bt1,000 note to buy Bt250 worth of his food.

Police found eight more fake Bt1,000 notes on Kesinee.

She admitted she got the fake notes from a younger friend and tried to use them at the market.

Police will conduct further investigations as they suspect she was part of a gang that prints and distributes fake bank notes.
