Prison chief, two corrections officers transferred following Phetchaburi Prison break

The commander of the Phetchaburi Central Prison two corrections officers were transferred on Monday after two inmates escaped from the prison on Friday.

Corrections Department director-general Pol Colonel Narat Sawettnan issued an order to transfer commander Bussaba Ketudom from Phetchaburi Central Prison to the post of inspector-general at the department with immediate effect.

Her post was filled by Somsak Kiartdanusorn, the former inspector-general of the department.

Narat also ordered the transfer of two corrections officers from the prison.

Nontharat Homsriprasert was transferred to Phayao Prison and Sompong Saengmanee to Thungsong Prison.

On Friday, inmates Ekkachai Kruakaew and Tawatchai Maliyaem climbed over a wall at the north of the prison and escaped.

The department has a policy to transfer prison chiefs and officials if inmates escape and are not recaptured within 48 hours.
