Toon reaches Kamphaeng Phet, receives Bt1.4m from governor

Charity hero Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai reached Kamphaeng Phet on Day 43 of his run early on Wednesday, and the province’s governor handed him Bt1.4 million raised by local people.

So far, Toon’s 2,191-kilometre charity campaign run for 11 public hospitals has raised Bt784.696 million.
On Wednesday, which was his 33rd day of actual running, Toon started his first leg from Susco petrol station in Nakhon Sawan at 2am to Nong Khiwua Community market, which is still in Nakhon Sawan.
In the second leg, Toon ran from the market at about 7am to Tambon Salokbart in Kamphaeng Phet’s Chanu Woralak Buri district, where he entered Kamphaeng Phet,
Over 1,000 local people waited for Toon to hand him cash at the first stopping point.
When he reached the second rest point, Kamphaeng Phet governor Thatchai Sisuwan gave Toon Bt1.456 million on behalf of the people.
At that point, Toon had run 1,616.31km. On Wednesday afternoon, he is running the third leg to Ban Kho Loh School, and he is scheduled to reach his stopping point on the fourth and last leg of the day at the Srinakhon petrol station in Tambon Klong Klung at 9pm.
