The charity run by Bodyslam frontman Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai reached over Bt1 billion in donations on Sunday afternoon.

As of 2pm, donations for the 11 public hospitals to benefit from his cross-country charity run since November 1 amounted to Bt1,000,428,009.39 – which is well beyond his initial target of Bt700 million.

Toon has run for 372.24 hours over 42 days covering 2,139.90 kilometres, according to the campaign’s Facebook page,

The rockstar is now in Chiang Rai, inching towards the finish line in Mae Sai district just in time for Christmas. He departed Wat Rong Khun in the afternoon.

Toon set himself a target of running from the southernmost tip of Yala’s Betong district to the northernmost point in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district – a distance of 2,191 kilometres – when he embarked on the campaign.
