Police said Ban Aram was found dead in his paddy field in Moo 6 village in Tambon Lamsai Yong of Nang Rong district on Wednesday night.
His body showed serious wounds inflicted by the animal's horns to his head and body.
His daughter, Somkid Noi Mano, 45, told police that her father normally led a heard of 10 cows to graze in the field and returned home by 4pm.
On Wednesday, he did not return after nightfall so Somkid and her brother went out to look for him and found his body beside a newly born calf.
The cow that foaled the calf, which was believed to have inflicted the injuries, was not at the scene.
